Who we are

LEDwise Lighting (Pty) Ltd. is an expert designer and manufacturer of LED lighting solutions for the retail, commercial and industrial market sectors.

At the core of the company is the professional engineering team which consists of experienced Mechanical and Electronic engineers responsible for new product development, product testing and operations management.

Additionally our highly experienced Sales team works closely with our clients to ensure the right product is selected for the application. On the factory floor we have a skilled team of assemblers who ensure that every job is assembled correctly to the highest quality standard.

We are a proudly South African company and wherever possible we source local content to minimise our enviromental impact and to stimulate the local economy. We recycle our waste and reuse as much material as possible to try and ensure that our products are as enviromentally sustainable in their production, as they are in use.

What we do

We use best practice engineering in the design of our lighting products and procure the highest quality components from leading brands. All our products are SABS approved and our factory is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Our locally designed printed circuit boards (PCBs) are optimised for heat dissipation, size and drive current. They are often multi-configurable allowing for different power levels to be populated. The LEDs and components are machine populated onto the PCBs under stringent quality control procedures and then assembled into housings which have been designed for aesthetics, heat dissipation and ease of assembly. We select optics and drivers to optimise light output and to achieve maximum efficacy.

Product Design & Testing

All our products are thoroughly tested during development and at designated stages during production. 100% of products are tested before they leave the factory. We also have lifetime test cabinets where the luminaires are on 24/7. These luminaires are tested periodically to measure colour shirt and lumen depreciation.

We have our own photometric laboratory equipped with a photo goniometer and state of the art digital LED tester. Using this equipment we are able to generate IES files, photometric emission spectrums as well as the total lumen output, chromaticity and colour rendering index for our products.

This is particularly useful during the development phase of a product where small changes in initial parameters can have a large effect on the overall performance of the luminaire. It is also vital for specifying the correct use of our products so that the desired optical level is attained.

In all cases we can provide a business case showing how long it will take for break-even point to be reached.
